“Phenomenal Me”- and phenomenal it was!  This production depicted  the real - life challenges young people face every day.  What amazed me most was their willingness to be transparent, sharing parts of their real life stories.  Their depiction of life through song, dance, spoken word, and recitations was incredibly effective.  Yes, “Phenomenal Me”—-phenomenal it  was!

Attending "The Phenomenal Me" with my 18-year-old daughter was truly unforgettable! This powerful stage play authentically portrays urban youth struggles through a perfect blend of music, dance, drama, and well-timed comedy. I applaud Dr. Jacqueline Shaw and this incredible group of talented young performers who poured their hearts into the stories shared. The performance sparked a meaningful conversation between my daughter and me long after the performance ended. This production masterfully balances life's challenges and triumphs in a way that easily resonates across generations.

“The Phenomenal Me” was a very inspiring production.  It encouraged viewers to keep their dreams alive in spite of real life challenges.  It was also an awesome way for teens to showcase their acting skills as well as reinforce to other teens and young adults that they can rise above peer pressure, low self-esteem, dysfunctional home environments and other real life challenges.

“The Phenomenal Me” was a very real and thought provoking play that mirrored the positive and the negative consequences for our youth in order to hopefully promote better decision making. It was very enlightening for not only the youth but also the parents to see the challenges and trappings of life.  However, “The Phenomenal Me” gave positive examples of how to overcome and be successful no matter the environment or circumstances.
